Education:

Austin Peay State University, bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with emphasis in Painting and Drawing/Visual Communications.  Recipient of the Jewel Birdsong Scholarship and The Center for Creative Arts scholarship, two years

  • Senior Thesis: Aquarelle, a body of work representing distant thoughts in abstract use of watercolor and experimentation in technique.

 

Work Experience:

Artist for Freelance/Commission Artwork (September 2014-present)

Lakeland Montessori Middle School, Lakeland FL (August 2017-December 2017)

  • Teaching Assistant.  In charge of Physical Education and Arts.  Office tasks including but not limited to the collection, organization, and filing of permanent records/documents and  use of Office Applications for the Macintosh OS. Clinic aid for first aid/CPR preparedness.  Grading for specific assignments and participation. 

Painting With a Twist, Lakeland, FL (August 2016-present)

  • Artist/Instructor.  We teach paintings step by step in an entertaining environment, breaking down and explaining the process of working with, exclusively, acrylic paint.  Duties include instruction, public relations, upkeep of studio and supplies, and making painting a fun experience for the general public.

Kelly Educational Services, Lakeland, FL (August 2016-present)

  • Substitute teaching for multiple schools within Polk County.

Creative Metrix, LLC, Clearwater, FL (October 2015-September 2016)

  • Co-owner/Creative Director.  Specialization in WEB development and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Providing customers with responsive yet simple websites for their business or company, as well as providing services to maintain a site’s prevalence within search engine use.​

City of Lakeland, Parks and Recreation/Aquatics, Lakeland, FL (November 2014-October 2015)

  • Lifeguard at Gandy Pool and seasonal work at Simpson Pool.  Red Cross CPR/First Aid and WSI certifications.  Duties included upkeep of pool and deck, working the front desk/register, and promoting the well-being to members of the community through bimonthly events an.

Austin Peay State University, Aquatics, Clarksville TN (September 2010-September 2014)

  • Lifeguard.  Duties included supervision and the provided safety of all patrons in pool and vicinity, teaching swim lessons at all levels, upkeep of pool and chemistry, promotion of University Recreation’s events, and customer service.  Red Cross CPR/First Aid and WSI certifications consistent throughout employment.  Best job ever.

Austin Peay State University Leadership Camp for Girls, Clarksville, TN (June 2014)

  • Lead a small introduction to watercolor workshop, focusing on technique and premise of color-mixing.

Austin Peay State University Art Department, Clarksville, TN (May 2012-July2012)

  • Scholarship work study, including organization and storage of the university’s permanent collection.  Office tasks within the Art Department.

  • Juried submitted art.

Dixieland Last Friday of the Month Flea Market, Lakeland, FL (October 2016)

  • Sold and displayed original artwork alongside other artists in the community.

Authors and Artists: The Regenerates, Nashville, TN (November 2014)

  • Installation and deinstallation of hanging pieces.  Authors and Artists: The Regenerates was a body of work consisting of ten authors and ten artists; each artist was paired with an author’s work to interpret the literature into a visual experience.  

The Biggs Picture Exhibition, Landscapes by Regional Artists, Dover, Delaware (May 2014)

  • Watercolor piece selected to exhibit in the Biggs Museum of American Art, presented May 17th through July 20th, 2014

  • Adventures in Curating, a special topics course in which we were presented with curatorial tasks of installing and removing exhibitions, as well as performing research on past successful shows, what makes a space cohesive, the flow of a room and an eye pattern, etc.
